Does anyone know if IWOV follows any CMS industry standards? Are there any industry standards? Have these standards been published anywhere?
We are building requirements for a CMS and would like to start with the standards.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Brian

Of course there are standards.
Everyone has them.
Need some more detail as to what standards you are looking for ?
Workflow ?
Workarea -> Staging -> Prod is a very common promotion model
Version Control ?
Not certain what standards there are for VC, but using a "standard"
engine (SCCS, RCS, CVS, Oracle) likely will not scale.
Development ? Java/Perl APIs
Other interefaces ? Sure web, email, all standard

There is this JSR for a content repository which is part of a CMS:
http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=170
I thought iwov was part of the group at one time, but I do not seem them on the list anymore. Either way, the spec is not finalized yet.

Basically I'm looking for a list of version control and workflow standards that I can reference in my requirements document.
i.e. Check In/Check out - what the functional specs. are behind this process.
