Search using Search.wsdl

Hi All -

I am throwing together a Perl script to test some searching with the new Search API (TS 6.5 SP1). I am throwing together things with SOAP::Lite

In Search.wsdl, one of the arguments for search is LimitToAreas and calls for ArrayOf_xsd_string

Anyone know how to set this up properly?

Basicallly I want to throw a null value for no (i.e. no limitation)

Here is what I am constructing in the script

my $branch=SOAP: Smiley Very Happy

ata->type(string=>'/default/main/test')->name('branchVPath');
my $limit=SOAP: Smiley Very Happy

ata->type(string=>'')->name('limitToAreas');
my $query=SOAP: Smiley Very Happy

ata->type(string=>'$search_string')->name('query');
my $pageSize=SOAP: Smiley Very Happy

ata->type(int=>'5')->name('pageSize');

I am getting de-serializer error relation to ArrayOf_xsd_string to I assume this is where I am going amiss.

Any thoughts would be well received!

Hi,
The limitToAreas parameter requires an array of VPaths of areas (workareas/staging/editions) if you need to limit the search results to that set of areas. The parameter is nillable, in which case, results from all the areas in the branch would be searched. Have you tried passing in a null equivalent to the paramenter?

I constantly get the following error:

SOAP-ENV Smiley Frustrated

erver : Cannot find deserializer from 'string':'http://www.w3.org/199
/XMLSchema' to 'ArrayOf_xsd_string *'
Error getting search result at Search.ipl line 75.

I must be setting up something wrong in the Perl script

Hi,
I am not too familiar with PERL, but the error seems to be that you are trying to send in a single string object where an array (of type - ArrayOf_xsd_string) is expected. Maybe if you posted your code snippet, Perl enthusiasts might be able to answer your query.
