Question for Lissa

Hello Lissa,
I was wondering, if you can help me Please. I am on Teamsite 6.5 on win 2003 server. I have Easy Deploy 6.0.0 Installed on it. As per the senior Interwoven Memebers. they say that Easy Deploy has an inbuilt DAS enabler within it. But now the guys from the support site say that , i need to download a "DD- enabler" to do the DAS. I am confused here. Can you enligten me as to what should i do? I should be able to deploy to a server with Easy Deploy, ( With DAS or with out it). Do our company needs to purchase DD - enabler for the deplyments to occur.
Please let me know ASAP.

DAS is bundled into the EasyDeploy Base Server. You have to turn on the feature, per the earlier thread in the OD forum. If all you need to do is publish TeamSite data to a database based on user-triggered events, then DAS is sufficient.

The DD enabler tool is only required to turn on DataDeploy functionality for non-DAS deployments. Those include database deployments initiated from the command line, UI, or web services.

thank you todd, thats very nice. But according to Support site, I needed a DD enabler. I don't want a DD enabler, its headache of my company as how they wanted to do it. But for me to give them one option , i wanted to Deploy data into database using simple DAS from user interface. According to you, i should be able to do it, but i can't do a Commandline start or a workflow deployment right?
What i would do is post a case with the Support site saying i want to do a deployment using OD UI, and see what they come up with. I have my config files and schemas ready for deployment, just need to try it.

DAS simply triggers deployment of your DCRs and EAs data to a database, no UIs take part - I mean to explicitly trigger deployments.

I think for anything more complex than that you'd need either DD-enabler, or, what I suspect, not the EasyDeploy, but rather a full-blown OD with DD module
