TS6.5 freezes but restart is ok
pj_andrew
We have a 6.5 installation which freezes (log file says this is due to lack of disk space - and we agree). However, we cannot unfreeze it unless we restart Teamsite. We would expect that unless we free up some disk then Teamsite should not restart, however it does and works quite happily for a while before freezing again.
Question:
Does Teamsite check at regular intervals for available disk space ?
Does the very act of restarting Teamsite mean that Teamsite assumes there is enough disk to work and does so until it checks the available disk space again ?
Does the act of restarting Teamsite free up some disk space ? (Very questionable).
Thanks.

I think it may be the event subsystem database. We had the same problem where it was growing out of control and freezing the server. There are quite a few threads about using another database in these forums.

Perhaps your best bet in this case is to incorporate a log rotation system. First, decide how important your log files are to you. This is a matter of policy, but how long do you want to keep your logs, which logs might you want to not archive at all and how long do you want to keep others? Next, create and schedule a batch or Perl script that will compress, rename, and move these files to some other storage media.

By the way, I miss Unix terribly.
