DCR and HTML Submit?

Is there an out of the box workflow in 6.1 that when submitting an HTML file, will also submit the DCR associated with it?

I don't think so, but this is very straight-forward to do. You could have an external task and by calling iwextattr to figure out what DCR your file is based on, just call iwaddtaskfile to add that file to your task.

Well, I guess you could use external_task_test.wft as a base. If you're just looking to create a basic workflow with an external task and perhaps a little more functionality, it's good to know how to do these things from scratch. For reading, I'd recommend the workflow documentation as well as some of the articles from the Tech Library.

I have written a few custom external tasks, but I haven't yet authored a workflow that submits. I'll check out the documentation.

If you're just looking to submit the file(s) to staging, you'll be interested in a "submittask." Otherwise, if you're interested in actually deploying the files to another environment, you might be interested in OpenDeploy or another transactional FTP-type product.

I have a separate "deploy" workflow that my users will run to deploy the files with OpenDeploy from STAGING to the production server. Looking into submittask now to get the DCRs to staging.

Well, I ended up doing it slightly differently. Instead of an external task, I wrote an intelligent workflow that iterates through all the files being submitted, checks to see if any DCRs are related. And, if it finds any related DCRs, pushes them into an array that I submit.
