Changing the Computer Name
shahid
Hi All,
We have TeamSite 6.1 running on Windows Server. It's a live server and it has OpenDeploy 6.0 and DataDeploy working on it. Now the management has decided to take this server to a DOMAIN. I mean add this server to the DOMAIN and they want to change the server name (Machine Name) to some other name.
For example: The server has "csbcs" name but they want to change it to "ABCD".
Please guide me if anyone has done the same job in their career. Please let me know what will be the impact of such change on TS Environment.
Your quick replies are highly appreciable.
Thanks in Advance

A couple of things off the top of my head...
First, you will have to regenerate your license key.
Second, check all your scripts to make sure that the hostname is not hard-coded anywhere.
Third, check your configuration files (odbase.xml, odnodes.xml, iw.cfg, etc) and change your hostname.
Go to your OD Receivers and change their odnodes.xml files to reflect the name change.
After you have made the switch to the new name, you might also want to check your registry.
