DataDeploy receiver
chintu
I am using TS 6.5/W3K/OD 6.0.1. My doubt is quite simple.
Do we need to install OpenDeploy receiver on the database box for a database deployment?
Thanks.

why don't you read OpenDeploy Installation Guide -- Installation.
All required information are there

Yes, most of the information is provided, but the installation documentation does not differentiate between OD and DD receivers (except the mention of DataDeploy module). It says that OD receivers are required at the receiving end, but I have a doubt that the same may not be the case with DD.

My understanding is that no, you don't. (The software formerly known as) DataDeploy will chat directly from your source server (probably your TeamSite server) to the database.

No installation of reciever required on database box.
Only thing is required to configure some files then you can map your DCT with database schema or you can create your new one also etc etc.

DataDeploy can deploy directly to a database.
It is also possible to deploy to an OD receiver, which in turn updates the database. If you use the <dbLoader> element in your OD config file, then you need a receiver. For example, use <dbLoader> if you need to sync file and database content in one deployment transaction without having to use DNR scripts.
