Hello,

In native word "File/Send to/Mail Recipient (as Attachment)..." opens an e-mail with the current document as an attachment. The document is named for it's number i.e. 618598_2.DOC. We would like the it to appear doc name, number, version. Is this possible?

You could override Word's internal procedure FileSendMail to achieve this. You'd then need to manually recreate the functionality that sends the document as an attachment in an email. Declare something like the following in a Word VBA addin

Public Sub FileSendMail()

'save a temporary copy of the current document, renaming it how you see fit

'then more code to create a MailItem object (if using the Outlook object model) and attach the file

End Sub
