OD Exclude Except Filter
Jeremy
Solaris, TS6.1 SP2
Hi All,
We are trying to deploy files in the base of a directory. There are other directories within this base directory, but we do not want to send them or touch these directories.
Our first solution was to use the following filters :
<filters>
<excludePattern regex=".*"></excludePattern>
<exceptPattern regex="wdpro_.*cgi$"></exceptPattern>
</filters>
However this sends all the wdpro* files as well as rebuilding the directory structure since the "except" overrides the "exclude" and so it searches all the directories below, and rebuilds them.
So what we end up with is all the files we want as well as an empty directory structure below it.
Has anyone else seen something like or has a RFTM or a point in the right direction for me?
Thanks.
Jeremy

Jeremy,
Other people have reported the same behavior.. unable to deploy just base files. Empty directories also end up getting deployed. This is something I am looking for as a feature enhancement... either mix and match of includes and excludes/excepts ... or some new attribute to specifically exclude directories and directory recursions. (Specific suggestions are welcome.)
For now though, you'll have to rely on DNR magic to delete the dirs on the target... that is what others have relied on.

How about something in transferRules like buildDirTree - which would default to t/true/y/yes to preserve backwards compatibility but could be set to f/false/n/no to prevent the creation of directories on the target side *unless* there is a file being deployed to that directory?
