iwextattr using regex with enumerate

Johnny

TS 6.5 solaris

Documentation states that specifying a regex (-r option) with iwextattr to filter entries can be used with both list (-l option) and enumerate (-e option)

If I do the following (list) it works fine (IE it returns only the entries with TeamSite/VisualAnnotate)

iwextattr -l -r "TeamSite/VisualAnnotate" /somevpath

If I do the following (enumerate) it returns all entries with no filtering

iwextattr -e -r "TeamSite/VisualAnnotate" /somevpath

NOTE the -e option instead of the -l option

Is anybody able to reproduce this?.. am I using the CLT wrong?

thanks for the help.

I just tried the same thing on 6.1 w2k. It appears that -e completely ignores the -r filter. Sounds like a bug to me,

Thanks buddy boy... off to the support site.

Can anyone provide an example of why the -e (enumerate) flag would be useful with iwextattr?

Thanks,

Johnny

I was just going to feed it back into iwextattr to delete the keys that start with TeamSite/VisualAnnotate

`iwgethome`/bin/iwextattr -e -r "TeamSite/VisualAnnotate" /somevpath | xargs `iwgethome`/bin/iwextattr -d {} /somevpath

Something like that would work on unix / cygwin.

There would be plenty of other cases - it eliminates the need to know all keys.. you just need to know sub keys.

Perhaps it was a typo in the usage?
It works with the '-x' flag ...
