TS6.5 SP2 - Removing Convert From Actions Menu

patrickm

Hi all,

Has anyone been able to remove the convert item from the "actions" menu in CCPro. The notes state to refer to the UI Guide, but I can't seem to find it. I've tried:

<menu id="iw.ccpro.action.menu">
<iwov-delete>
<link id="iw.ccpro.action_menu.convert.link"/>
</iwov-delete>
</menu>

But that's not working. If anyone knows the name of the ID, please post it here! Thanks!

Patrick

Patrick,
I don't have a "convert" menu item in the Action menu to remove. What does convert do?

This is a menu item that enables you to use the new separately priced Content Transformation Services module that ships with TeamSite 6.5 SP2. You should see the menu item disabled by default until you configure TeamSite appropriately. In order to configure this menu item, you need to purchase the optional module "Content Transformation Services" and then point TeamSite to the server where the transformations will occur. Read the TeamSite 6.5 SP2 supplement and the datasheet for additional information about Content Transformation Services for TeamSite.

At a high level - Content Transformation Services enables you to convert word documents into HTML and PDF via an intermediate XML step. This is a server side solution that is cross-platform and does not require that you have Word running on the server. Using the intermediate XML, you can then re-use or re-purpose that XML for multi-channel publishing into one or more output formats.

I am guessing that Patrick is already on 6.5 SP2. The Convert menu item shows up in 6.5 SP2.

thanks

Yes this is correct. We've upgraded our dev and production servers to SP2, now we just can't get rid of that item!

Not "iw.ccpro.action_menu.convert.link" but "iw.ccpro.actions_menu.convert_files.link".

you can show the id in the HTML source.

---
<a id="iw.ccpro.actions_menu.convert_files.link" target="_blank" title="Convert a document into another format" onclick="javascript&colon;return fs_invoke_with_selection(this, event);" href="/iw-cc/command/iw.group.convert_files" iw_wf="width=600,height=600,scrollbars=1,menubar=0,titlebar=0,resizable=1,status=1,center=true,dependent=false" iw_enabled="true" class="iw-base-link">

Hi,
add this code snippet to your ui_custom.xml:

<action-list id="iw.ccpro.filesys.menubar">
 <menu id="iw.ccpro.action.menu">
  <iwov-delete>
   <link id="iw.ccpro.actions_menu.convert_files.link" />
   <separator id="iw.ccpro.action_menu_transform.separator" />
  </iwov-delete>
 </menu>
</action-list>

Don't forget to do an make_toolkit.ipl afterwards...

Stefan
