remove title bar for portlet in CC Std

TeamSite 6.1 SP2 on Windows 2000 Server SP4

I need to remove the title bar for the "My Workareas" portlet, as part of an attempted workaround for another issue (see http://devnet.interwoven.com/forums/cgi-bin/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=PRODUCTS_TEAMSITE&Number=59077&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=0#Post59077). The UICG for TS 6.1 describes the <title-bar> element in portal_custom.xml as "whether or not a portlet’s title should be rendered" (p 39). However it doesn't bother to say anything about how one should use this element to hide a given title.

The following does NOT work:

<iwov-delete>
<title-bar id="titlebar"/>
</iwov-delete>
</portlet>

...and there doesn't seem to be anything else about this element in documentation nor on the support site.

Any ideas?

Nevermind. I figured out how to do this, and also that it won't help with my workaround anyhow.

Yes, it turns out that simply adding a type="custom" attribute makes the title bar go away, as in:


<portlet id="cu.ccstd.home.content.portlet" refid="_iw.ccstd.common.home.content.portlet">
    <title-bar id="titlebar" type="custom"/>
</portlet>

I guess the idea is that "custom" would be used for a custom portlet that generates its own title bar, and is thus used to say "don't give me the standard title bar". This wasn't clear to me from the UICG, but I got with a little experimentation.

Having said that, I think that doing this for the standard Interwoven-supplied portlets is discouraged, as their title bars sometimes include links to resource bundles.

Eg, my own case: I'm trying to work around a bug in TS 6.1 SP2, which causes an error in the "My Favorites" portlet if "My Workareas" is removed via the UI toolkit. We have indeed removed "My Workareas" and would like to keep it that way, so I'd hoped that by putting it in a 0%-width column and removing the title bar, I could make it invisible. Problem is that even with "My Workareas" present in the application, even just disabling that title bar causes the error in "My Favorites". Why they made one portlet dependent on the title bar of another (especially given that this wasn't the case before SP2) is beyond me, but there you have it...
