Hi frds,
TS 6.5 + Weblogic 8 + Soalris + iPlanet WebServer

Requirement description:
User sends a request to to Web Server say www.abc.com/health/home/home.do then I would like to forward this request to health app server and directory structure for app server is

WEB-INF/content/home/tiles/ which has all the tiles to build the home.do file. (Typical struts tiles structure) All the URLs in the page are relative to content directory.

I added "health" as context root in the weblogic.xml so that when user clicks on any URL it shud be properly build. For example if user clicks on a link say news which has href path /news/news.do it will be redirected to /health/news/news.do and finally app server gets the request. But its not able to add the context root when I have URL something /news/news.do and it adds context root when it has URL like news/news.do without / in front. Seems to be when it starts with "/" it takes this as absolute URL but without / it takes this as relative URL and it works. So application people are asking here to remove / in cms itself in presentation files when it spits out the html but I am not fully convinced on this. Is this the only way to get the appropraite URL and I believe Interwoven claims they are compliant with web logic app server. Isnt there any setting app server we can do and configure the URL to appropriate location.

hi guys,

In teamsite DCT when we browse any link in the same branch then we get this kind URL /news/index.jsp where news directory is under workarea and index.html in news directory. I want my URL while browsing should give me only news/index.html without "/". Is this possible as configurable parameter in TeamSite to make the browse URLs relative instead of absolute.

Any thought guys .... or we need to change all tpl and call a function which will strip the slash and second thing complete VF content has to be parsed to remove "/"

That's pretty much your option. Either that, or writing your own browser and plugging that into the DCT (via a cgi callout) and the VF (via adding a toolbar button). The returned path from the OOTB browse is not configurable.

You could call the OOTB browser and pass it a function to call back to which removes the leading / before populating the field. I explained how to do something similar in this post. You should be able to figure it out from there.

Which of course would still be doing a CGI callout...but you wouldn't have to write the browser yourself.

thanks guys for your replies ... I think browser call out and VF button to link image and external links will solve this problem

If all you want to do is remove the leading / then the simplest route is to create a Perl module to do the actual work, then include it in your presentation templates. You can then call the function, passing it the browser generated DCR field and output the de-slashed URL.

Thats always an option but it is little complex to change the URL supplied in VF. Thats why I avoided this option.
