Visual Format triple click behavior

Hello,

has somebody noticed the strange behavior of the VF when editing a textarea field and then changing to another textarea field with a triple mouse click (left button)? In that case the VF overwrites the selected textarea with the content of the previous field. Can this functionality be disabled?

We are using TS 6.5 SP 1 on Solaris and IE 6 SP1

We have had the same problem with VFE altho a just a single click from one textarea to another (both using VFE) was enough to copy- paste content. If anybody has the solution to this , it will be highly appreciated.

We've noticed the same issue. Is this a known bug? I was hoping it was fixed on 6.5, but apparently not?

We are having this issue as well. Working with support on this. They haven't been able to reproduce this behavior yet.

Windows2003 6.5 SP1 is our environment.

We are Interested in the fix too.

We are working with support too on this issue. interestingly, this issue failed to occur on PCs running Win 2000/2003, but they were able to replicate the issue on XP, which kind of made us seem to think if it was an XP issue, until I saw that rpatiban was running Windows 2003! No solution in sight as yet.

Are you asking if we have 2 different PTs that we use at generation time, yes we do.

We use one for development / preview, and then a 2nd for generating for production.

What I meant by config files are two different visual format editor configuration files. Are you using two different configuration files on the same DCT for two different fields?

Yes! We are. I've got the DCT customized so that one field only allows for image selection - that's the only icon that displays. And a second field that's pretty wide open to all the other options.

Is this a known bug?

Well, here is what I tried. I used the out-of-box config file for 2 fields on the same DCT. And the copy-paste behavior did not occur. Now, I only renamed the out-of-box file. So I had two, if you want to call it "different" config files like visualformatconfig.xml and visualformatconfig1.xml - the only difference being the name, and used these for two different fields on the same DCT. Now the copy-paste behavior did occur. Not sure why tho. Just using two different config files did it. But when this was reported to support, they were able to replicate this only on XP clients and seem to think its one of the IE Q patches that is causing this strange behavior. They are working on it and will let me know if they come up with something. Meanwhile, does anyone wanna try this and see if they see the same behavior? Please let me know if you do.

we can reproduce the Error on both clients, Win2000 and WinXP.
And yes, we are also using two different config files in one DCT.

I get this error (but very infrequently) and yes, we too are using 2 different config files for the editor.

The TeamSite server is Windows 2003, running TeamSite 6.1 and the clients are XP running IE 6.0, SP2.

Has there been any resolution to this?

We have a problem like this one that occur.

Content of one textarea (visualformat) is copied to another textarea (visualformat) when the user select the other textarea (visualformat).

The problem is that it replace all the information of the second textarea.

Is there any fix for this problem?

when the save happens.

And this is also a known bug.

We contacted the support team but nothing happened.

May be this Issue may not happen in 6.7 as Interwoven is providing its own

editor "TinyMCE".

Also - "TinyMCE" is not Interwoven's - it is a 3rd party product - see this or this for more information.

Both the "fast switching between editors" and "two different vf configuration files" are bugs. The earlier is fixed in 671sp1 and the latest patch for 65sp3.

We have the similar issue happening in our environment. TS 6.7.1 SP1/Win2003, client Windows XP IE6.

However we only configure to use one VFE configuration (customised) and we have replicant that will add TextArea box. Only then the issue occurred.

I am not sure if this is to put the belief that it is caused by 2 configs though.

You should try with the default config of VFE and try to reproduce the issue, if it doesn't occur, you can compare it with your custom config, and if it occurs and you can certainly open a ticket with support. I believe there is some VFE patch for the problem you mentioned, however, check with support whether you should use it or not.
