Help needed in integrating Forward date deployment
Biswarup
Hi,
TeamSite Environment:
TeamSite 6.5 SP2 installed on Windows 2000 Server SP4.
OpenDeploy 6.0.1
The requirement is to have two types of deployment associated in one workflow;
.a. Immediate Deployment
.b. Timed (Forward Dated) Deployment
The job initiator need to select either while initiating a job. There is a dummy task with timeout transition before the deploy task. On selection of ".b." the input date and time should be passed to the $timeout variable and on selection of ".a." it should by-pass the dummy task and deploy immediately on approval.
I have developed the workflow, but stucked at this junction. If somebody can guide me how to achieve it, I am ready to share the workflow code built by me.
This requirement is very urgent; so looking for a quick reply.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Biswarup.

You have two choices - but the simplest would probably be to use a timeout of "+000000" for the dummytask if 'a' is selected - that way you use the exact same task transitions and don't have to muck about trying to figure out how to code different transition paths (which isn't terribly difficult, but ...)
