For performance reasons - it would be better to use a module (pm) than a script (ipl)
Other than that - I'm not sure what your issue is - you need to provide more information about what you're trying to do / how you're trying to do it / what's [not] happening / etc.

Thanks ghoti
attached is my workflow in which i want to set / update the metadata which is already deployed in DB server. so i have a ipl which will populate the fields / values from the DB. so i want to use this ipl to populate this field in the TAG_info so the user can set / update the metadata. the code of the ipl i used in the sub file_selector {}
plz correct / suggest me the solution.
Thanks

I don't really see what the problem is. Workflow templates are perl. Turn your ipl into a module, make a call to it and have it return what you want.

Your code looks highly confused.
You're calling a Java program to retrieve information from something (Microsite?) and then storing the retrieved values into an array (
@rows)
[have you verified data in
@rows
?] then you're printing XML headers to STDOUT as-if this was a DCT inline script rather than a WFT and then looping through the data in
@rows
and printing more strings to STDOUT instead of storing the information for use within a TAG_info() directive.
In short - it looks like you are chooising samples of code for doing things without any regard to the context in which the sample was written and that you have little understanding of that context nor the implications of failing to understand it. I think you need more help than you're going to get from these forums alone.

Thanks, i am new to perl modules, i have created a perl module in which there is subroutine where i am using DCRparser and DCRnode to parse a dcr and retrive the values. now i use this perl module in my wft and i want to call the sub routine in my wft so the subroutine will return the parsed values and populate a drop down list in TAG_info
can someone suggest the idea.

It sounds as though your WFT is getting more and more obfuscated. Do you need to populate this list from the DCR or are you looking for a list of users in a given OS group, for instance?

yes, need to populate this list from the DCR .

You already did:

That sounds like a perfectly fine option. Include the module and call the subroutine. If you don't know how to do this, it is very simple, read a perl book or google it.

Just compose your output HTML from within your subroutine which is in your module. Then return your HTML at the end of this routine. In your TAG_info, your field might look like the following:
users =>
[ html => getUsers(),
label=> ...
...
],
... for instance. Depending on how you're calling your module, you may need to reference the full namespace. I'd spend about a half hour or so reading some Perl tutorial information on the web and then you should be equipped to do this task.
