force entry of extended attributes

When a user is importing a file via the standard interface we would like to force them during the import to enter some extended attributes.

Is it possible to force the popping of the EA screen when importing certain file types?

Anything is possible.

You could create a custom import component that leverages interwoven's import utility and then determines whether or not the tagging screen needs to appear. However, I believe the ability to customize the content center standard wizards is coming in the next releases of TeamSite (maybe 6.7.1). So, I would balance the business criticality for this change against the cost of developing this custom component to accomplish what you want.

Is it acceptable for users to set extended attributes/metadata on submit ? You can use the submit tagging wizard or use a 'Tag' task as the first task in a workflow to force users to enter metadata. This has very minimal development overhead while you wait for 6.7.1 to see if the tagging wizard can be configured for import operations.
