Task Comments in Workflow

Hi there,

Just wanted to know is there any limitations for the number of comments in a particular workflow???

What i am doing is i am extracting the comments using getComments of Task object and appending the same in my mail which is to be send for approval.

Any reference please forward

With regard to size of comments or number? I believe the only limit to the number of comments is disk space with regard to the backing store. I've had dummytasks that timeout after a short amount of time and cycle back, each time leaving a comment, only to return and find that it's cycled several hundred times.

Current Environments:
(1,2) TS 6.5 on W2K3
(3) Vignette V7 Portal on Solaris 9

Its true.... and thats the only thing for which i am worried about. Sometimes the comments come twice or thrice and sometimes.... it does not even turn up with all the comments starting from the first task till the current task.

One thing to note is that (as of 6.1 anyway), the entire contents of any instantiated workflow are held in memory. So, as your comments/transitions increase, the amount of memory used on the server increases. I've seen where a very short timeout (2 minutes) on a dummy task loop has actually ended up with memory shortage related issues on the TeamSite server.
