Disable Matter Field on Edit Profile Dialog

I am trying to disable a number of fields that are displayed on the edit profile dialog including the matter field. It works for all the other fields but the Matter field remains editable. I have tried changing around the order in which fields are disabled but it does not seem to matter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is a known issue. A bug has been reported on the ineffect of disabling child lookup field via scripting.

This is the only work-around that might suffice until the fix is released:
