clload.exe and ODBC.ini

Hi Techies--

Even though I think I've set up the ODBC connection for our SQL Server instance of WorkSite, I'm getting this error message in the clload.exe reporting log:

DataSource does not exist in ODBC.ini . When I look in the odbc.ini file, the value for the db instance is there. When I test the ODBC connection through NTf 2003, the test is successful.

Any ideas?

I am answering my own posting for reference purposes. Even though I was logged on as an administrator--I was not updating the system version of the ODBC.ini file, instead, I was updating only my copy of it. It appears clload.exe needs the ODBC.ini system-wide version.

For those NT Admin type gurus that know more details than I've just described, please feel free to add to this!

..also.. it could be that a dns name already exists for the server you're trying to reach in the odbc.ini file. Remember to check the file carefully. If there are 2 references to the same server, delete one.
