Images distorted when imported
Vishakha
hi,
We are using Teamsite 6.1.0 version. We have to import images in our Workarea. The problem is when we import images from the local machine, some images get distorted.Till date no problem has been observed with other types of file that were imported. But for images the problem persists.
Do we have any special option for importing images? We use the "import" option from the "File" menu.
I think, most probably the problem is because of the mode in which images are imported. If the images are imported in ascii mode instead of binary then the result is distorted images.
Can anyone please help us with this?

Can you provide a bit more detail about what you mean by "distorted"?
As an option - you could try mounting the IWSERVER share and drag-n-drop the images from your local system to the workarea on TS (note: you did not mention what platform your server is running on - please try to provide that information in your posts)

Just a shot in the dark. Are you clicking on the image after it's imported inside of Teamsite and is it displaying in Internet Explorer. If so, then is "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" checked in Tools\Internet Options\Advanced. If it is, uncheck it.
Also, is the image distored in Teamsite when being previewed and does it look fine after deployment?

By distortion I mean, the image gets spoiled, the kind when u get when u FTP an image in the ASCII mode(refer the attached image). We are using Teamsite 6.1 on Solaris 5.8.

Are you using the TeamSite OOB File->Import feature, or a custome import? If you're using a custom import, make sure your binmode is set on your file handle.

I am using the import option in the "File" menu

If you're having problems with the OOTB Import, I would contact support.
