Restrict access to Documentum Administrator to System Administrators

Hi,

Is there an ellegant way to implement the following feature:

if dm_user.privileges >= 8 (thus meaning System Administrator or SuperUser) then you can access Documentum Administrator

otherwise you don't get in (and are forced to use WebTop)

Presumably I have to use WDK and customise the Documentum Administrator Login screen??? Do I have to dive into Java code or can this be configured using WDK XML components?

Yes you do need to extend DA login component to achieve this.

Extend the Login component and verify the user privilege from your behaviour class and redirect the user to webtop if he do not have enough privilege.

Alternatively, if you cant customize DA, you can have your network folks only allow access to DA app server from IP addresses that belong to Sys Admins.

Thanks, for your input. We finally did the absolute minimum of WDK customisation to prevent anything more then the Inbox from showing up in the browsertree. And we had to do some intervention not to bypass our settings via Search. Thanks again. Kris
