Launchpad and Mac OSX

mleefiend

We are currently having problems trying to load the launchpad applet on a MAC OSX machine. Instead of running, the Helper dialog box is popping up asking us what to do (Save, Run Helper Application, etc.). Does anyone know how to get around this or add a new Helper Application entry to resolve this issue?

The versions that we are running are:

Safari - 2.0.3
IE - 5.2.3
Firefox - 1.6
OSX Tiger - 10.4.4
Java - 1.4.2 (Release 2)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You provided a bunch of version information - except for TeamSite.

What version of TeamSite (including SP) are you running?

I've had no trouble using firefox 1.0.7 on my MacOS-X 10.4.4 against TeamSite 6.5 SP1 servers running on either Unix or Windows.

I don't recall doing anything special to get it to work though - so I'm not sure what to tell you.

I guess that would help!! We are currently running 5.5.2

Just taking a stab, but I wonder if you need to install the JRE.

Did you mean Firefox 1.5? Or perhaps 1.06? I've never encountered this error on any version of Safari or Firefox. The only relavant setting here should be enable Java in the preferences.

I also wouldn't expect to see the same error in Firefox and Safari, since Safari runs Java 1.4.2 and Firefox and other browsers are restricted to 1.3.1 (http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/ gets around this).
