What are the legal characters for docs and folders names?

What are the Documentum's rules regarding the use of special characters in documents and folder names? On one hand, it seems to be very tolerant, and I was able to use characters that regular file systems would reject. On the other hand, it seems to have unique treatment for certain characters. For instance, backslashes are allowed in folder names, but regular slashes are not. For documents, OTOH, both kinds of slashes are allowed. I was able to find some naming rules in the Object Reference Manual, but the rules for documents and folders naming are missing. Are they specified anywhere?

I'm using version 6.5, via DFS if that matters.

As far as I know, there's no doc about that but so far, the slash (/) in a folder name is the only limitation I know and this one makes sense since that's the folder separator character in Documentum (a folder is /cabinet/foler1/sub 1/....)

Even if you use characters not allowed by the OS, it doesn;t matter in Documentum because

1. the object name is actually a database record, not a file name

2. at check out/view time, Documentum will replace the invalid OS characters (can;t remember with what but that's not the point, you can find it out yourself by testing).
