How to setup Load balance the Content Server?

Hi All,

I am having 2 Content server and a Repository in each of it.

How can I do the Load Balance for these two Servers?

Environment

---------------------------------------------------------

Content Server : 6.5 Windows

Data Base : MS SQL 2005

Is there any documentation in powerlink. Please help me.

You can configure Active-Passive Load Balancing using multiple docbrokers (one docbroker for each Content Server).

Every docbrocker will be mentioned in dmcl.ini/dfc.properties of the clients You can use the "proximity" parameter as well for loadbalancing.

First content Server

[DOCBROKER_PROJECTION_TARGET]
host = CS1
port = 1489
[DOCBROKER_PROJECTION_TARGET_1]
host = CS2
port = 1489
proximity=2

2nd content server

[DOCBROKER_PROJECTION_TARGET]
host = CS2
port = 1489
[DOCBROKER_PROJECTION_TARGET_1]
host = CS1
port = 1489
proximity=2

I don't think that load balancing of remote content servers is sufficiently explained in any of the official documents.

I accept that the CFS installer is supposed to set up a remote content server with startup/shutdown scripts & relevant docbase config objects but I've had this program crash out at 2 sites - both times I had to complete the CFS installation process by manually creating ACS objects.

Ideally the documentation should state exactly what the CFS installer does. There's also no guidance re how to set up jobs in a distributed config or recommendations for docbase projections (e.g. the method server should never be allowed to connect to remote docbases due to trusted login restrictions).
