Set the default and max No of replicant value

Hi,

How do I set the default and max no of replicant value based on the value user enter/select. If the user select # 3 from drop-down, I have to take that value and set it as default and max no of replicant for the following container(s). There are 2 containers where I have to set the default and max no replicants.

Ideas, Code snippets, tips will be appreciated.

In your DCT you could set the replicant max to possible maximum value the dropdown options could have.

Then register "OnReplicantAdded" and "OnReplicantBeforeAdd" for the items concerned. Keep counter(s) to keep track of how many replicant have been added("OnReplicantAdded" ).

Then "OnReplicantBeforeAdd" compare the counter(s) against the value selected from the dropdown. If the numbers matches, meaning they have already reached the max, return false, invalidating the new replicant addition.

sounds like a good approach..Can you elaboreate a little bit more with some sample snippet of code or can u redirect where i can get it. The FormAPI documentation really sucks. not much info/code samples.
