Unable to Import Document

All,

I'm using Content Server 6.5sp2, and I'm in DA, and I don't see my custom document types when I try to import a document. However, if i try to create a new document by going to File->New->Document, I see my custom doc types there. Any ideas what could be causing this?

What is the supertype of your custom type?

Does your type listed in Types node?

Did you run the data dictionary job and restart your DA app server (if its different than the Webtop app server)?

The supertype of my type is another custom type, and that type's supertype is dm_document. All the custom types show in the Types node, but only the custom supertype shows in the import screen.

I have already run the data dictionary job, several times actually, and restarted the app server that DA runs on. I've also flushed a few caches, and then tried running the data dictionary, but no luck.

I've ran the consistency checker job as well, but there are no errors in the report.

Do you have presets defined? If not, have you tried seeing if this behavior exists on Webtop? I have seen issues specific to DA that do not occur in Webtop.

I have no presets defined.

The same behavior exists in Webtop. I even tried creating a completely new doc type with dm_document as the super type, but that doesn't display in the import drop down either.

Did you set the supertype state to OBSOLETE? Have you tried creating another custom type derived from custom supertype?

Yes, I've also tried creating a new custom type dervied from the same custom supertype, but that didn't work either.

I haven't intentionally set anything to OBSOLETE, but I can verify that it isn't set. Are you referring to the state_name attribute on the type object in the dmi_dd_type_info table?

Can you provide API Dump of the supertype and derived subtype?

I've attached the dumps of the supertype and subtype. One thing I noticed was there were two objects listed for the supertype in the dmi_dd_type_info table - one with nls_key = en, and one with nls_key = en_US. I'm not sure, are there supposed to be two? The other difference I noticed was that the 'en_US' dump has no values for the map_display_string and map_data_string attributes, while the 'en' dump does have values for these fields.

This is the dump of dmi_dd_type_info. Can you provide dump dm_type for each of your types?

Attached are the dm_type object dumps. However, between the supertype and the subtype i've attached, there are other types, that's why the super type of it_deliverable is not test_document, do you need all of those that are in between as well? This supertype is the one that is displaying in the import screen, but none of its subtypes are displaying.

Is test_document showing properly? If yes, then I need the immediate subtype that is not showing. I dont care about the other derived types.

Have you tried executing publish_dd API (via DA) directly for your type (in lieu of running the data dictionary job against all types):

I just tried that through DA, but it_doc still does not show in the import screen.

Did you delete the cache from the app server after executing the publish_dd api? If so, I would contact Tech Support - I'm all out of ideas.

which application server you are using. use the exact version no of the application server mentioned in the installation document.
