Auto fill attibute value

Hi all,

I want to autofill an attribute with a unique value which will be generated from some custom calculation when a new document of that type is created.

How to achieve that. Please help.

Does this attribute value need to be visible during the new document creation window or just visible afterwards? If you need to see the value during the new document process, then you should customize the newdocument WDK component. If the value just needs to be visible afterwards, then you can create a TBO to generate the value based on your own custom logic.
