Auto fill attibute value

Hi all,

I want to autofill an attribute with a unique value which will be generated from some custom calculation when a new document of that type is created.

How to achieve that. Please help.

Write some logic to create or generate a random number for new document and fill or use this number where you want.

Customize you application so that it automatically read the generated number and display where you want.
