Worksite web in iFrame
Ben_inform
Hi,
I have a large customer that wants to use the web component to display documents published by end-users on their intranet. They have an existing ASP based intranet and wanted to have like an iFrame displaying a cut down version of WSW - i.e. just the minimum needed to display the contents of a linked fiolder. That way the end users can publish to the web document content simply by drag and dropping to a folder via DeskSite.
Has anyone ever used WorkSite web in this way? - We are debating wether its better to bastardise WSW untill its small and simple enough to iFrame it into their intranet OR write a CGI using ASP and the iToolkit that delivers the worksite content.
any feedback is GREATLY appreciated.
Ben.

Which version of WSW do you have ? IF you customize the javascript a bit you shuold be able to hide top and side bar and then you can show the content in IFRAMe
In the WSW 8.1 version there will be a detail guidline on how to achieve such things. 8.1 version will also have asp.net control to show tree/search in any third party portal or home grown portal application

You need to look at includes/tab.js file - In this file look for function PageHeader_write thats where the top bar/side bar and content area framework gets written -
Regarding 8.1 release,m I am not sure about the exact dates - however Interwoven do have a beta program for WSW 8.1. You may want to get in touch with their product management team to be part of their beta program
