Create DocApp Archive error

Hi,

I'm creating a new docapp so I can include workflow template and then deploy it later in a new docbase. I could create the docapp successfully, however when i try to create the docapp archive i get an error saying "Error on Creating External Application" and in details all i see is java.lang.NullPointerException. I have created docapp archives before and never had this issue. We are using AppBuilder 5.3 SP5 and the docbase is 6.0 SP1.

Use App Builder 5.3 SP 5.5 Update 1 and try again.

I uninstalled the version i had and installed 5.3 SP5 and to be precise "Application Builder 5.3.0.572" and still have the problem. I have been running this version for a long time and never had issues creating docapp archive before. Where do i find 5.3 SP5 update 1 version to download and try? i can only see 2 versions for download one meant for 6.0 and another for 6.5

The 5.3 SP5 update 1 is specifically for D6 Sp1. You ought to see it in the download section. Not sure why it does not show up for you though.

The one i have downloaded and installed is listed under download centre on powerlink as

5.3 SP5.5

Documentum Application Builder for Windows, Version 5.3 SP5.5 for D6

I could not see anywhere it say about update 1 for 5.3 SP5

There is actually a 5.3 SP6.5 now. Do you have a valid (current) support license? If so, submit a ticket to Tech Support and ask them to add this version to your download page. The product lists available for each sometimes do not get updated appropriately.

I do have access to the 5.3 SP6.5 App Builder and the only reason i did not try it was because it said it is for 6.5 and we are on 6.0 docbase. I will still download it and give it a try and let you know.

If I remember correctly, the SP6.5 is not specifically for 6.5 docbases, but for fixes it need to support 6.5. This also includes bugs with the 5.3 SP6.0.

No luck even after installing 5.3 SP6.5. I still get the same error.

Try installing DAB on another computer. I have seen where installation of DAB can get corrupted.
