is there any way to retrieve a DCR which got deleted from the workarea ?
The generated jsp's are existing.

could you check the modified files through View-->List modified menu?? The deleted DCR appears must be there with a red-coloured "X" icon, provided you have not submitted the deleted file to STAGING. Simply try to revert it back by using "overwrite" button. for proper revertion follow the help manual provided in Teamsite.

If you're in 6.X, you can also do "View->All and Deleted Files". This will show the DCR even if the delete has already been submitted to staging. You will then have the option to "Restore" the DCR in the workarea.

Please note that if the DCR has never been submitted to staging (prior to the delete), there is no way to retrieve the DCR, it is gone. The only way to retrieve it would be to hope that your backup guys have a copy somewhere, but it would probably be easier to re-create the DCR based on the generated output.

The generated file should have EA's on it that identify the category/datatype, path and filename of the DCR from whence it had been created.

The generated file also contains "content".

So - you would manually re-create the DCR of the appropriate category/datatype in the correct path with the correct filename - and extract content from the generated page and plug it into the fields of the DCT.

As stated, this is mostly a manual process. There might be portions that could be automated, but since most generated pages are HTML and HTML is not very well structured - trying to automate the parsing of the generated content in order to re-create the structured DCR is most likely difficult if not impossible and would probably take you a considerably longer amount of time to try to figure out how to do it than the manual process.
