trigger function for 2 diff containers

user the select the value from the dropdown, based on the value I have to display no of container in two places. 1st one is working fine..but its not triggering for 2nd place.

dropdown -
/table/table_layout/table_settings/no_of_columns
/root/container/container/item

1st container
----------------
/table/table_layout/table_settings/column_settings_col_1
/root/container/container/container

2nd container
----------------
/table/table_layout/group/row/column_1
/root/container/container(replicant)/container(replicant)/container

I am not sure whether its addresing issue or u can't trigger that function in 2 places when the use the select value from drop-down.

I would appreicate if someone guide in the right direction.
