DD 6.0.1 installation

Hi,

we are upgrading our DD 5.6 to DD 6.0.1. Can you please clarify the following:

Our current system has OD 5.6 (with SP1)and DD 5.6.

1) Now if we upgrade this to OD 6.0.1 , will our DD also get upgraded??

2)If not do we have to install the DD module 6.0.1 separately ? If we install the DD module (6.0.1), what will happen to the existing DD 5.6 ?? and will the current deployments work as is ?

Starting in OD 6.0, DataDeploy is a licensed add-on module to OpenDeploy. When you upgrade to version 60 or later, you need to enable the DD features by running the DD license enabler. Your config files will still work... there are some differences in standalone invocation. Refer to the release notes and DD guide for more details.

You can run DD 5.6 along with OD 6.x. It might be an easier upgrade route if you do not "upgrade" to the integrated DD in OD 6.x, although, the new dbLoader feature in OD 6.x does some pretty cool things.
