Webtop 6.5 SP2 import problem

Hello Experts!

We just upgraded to Documentum 6.5 sp2. In this version of Webtop,when we import a document

the import is set to" Import:Object Definition: Default_Read_Only"

No out of the box attributes are being shown to fill in. Changing to a custom doc type shows only the

custom attributes.

What do I need to change for the basic out of the box attributes to be displayed?

Are you using a normal user or superuser acct? If normal user, verify what the client_capability is set to - it should be set to contributor or higher.

Also, is this a customized Webtop or out of box? If customized, then its your customization.

I tested with both a superuser and normal user account with the same results. Here is a screen capture of what the import scrren looks like.

No customization, an out of the box Webtop, DA and DAM. Thanks for your help!

Did you upgrade content server and/or webtop and from what previous version? Also, does the import actually succeed if you click finish? Verify that you can view the document after the import -> maybe your filestore is set to be in Read-Only mode. BTW - I have never seen that message before.

We upgraded from 5.3 sp5 on both the content server and Webtop. Yes the import succeeds. Yes I can view the files and even add data to the title field after import but not during the import.

Sounds like the Display Configuration for Webtop got corrupt/lost. You can use Composer or Application Builder (53SP6.5) to reconfigure display configuration for your type.

Okay. This is happening with even with the Dm_Document type.

Hi Bob,

In order to display custom attributes while importing documents you would need to customize webtop.

If I am correct it is the importdocbaseattributelist.xml file which needs to altered.

Please try and post back your findings.

The answer to this question was simple after a little digging.

By default the import_docbaseattributelist.xml sets most the

out of the box attributes to not shown in the ui. The line looks like this;

"add any attributes that shouldn't be shown in the UI here"

This config file needs to be extened and remove those attributes that you want displayed in the UI.
