Web CMS (TeamSite)
missing images
Bhargav Coca
I am on Teamsite 6.5 on win 2003 server. I have two branches which are almost identical, When i create a DCT and generate or preview any thing, i can see my image and attachements to that file. But on the other hand i can't not see any pictures or attachments on the other branch. I have made sure all the things for this branch are taken care in the iw.cfg file. please let me know as where i am going wrong.
Thank you

What do you mean by "all things". This isn't really enough information to diagnose anything.
Attach the relevant portions of your iwproxy config from iw.cfg.
Also, have you run iwproxy in debug mode to trace the requests and responses between your browser, iwproxy, and the customer web server? What did you find when you did this? Also, are you 100% certain the images actually exist in the other branch?

Here is a small snippet of iwproxy part of my iw.cfg file. My images are working in both branches now, But my file links are not working. Please suggest me a possible solution to resolve this.
thank you

What do you mean by "file links"?
Bhargav Coca
Most of the content has attachments these attachemnts are uploaded using a cgi script , to the
Upload
directory. This directory is present on the marketing branch and the Testing branch. So the files will be attachemnts to the content and when clicked should open the file. This is not happening.
Thank you

Is the CGI script part of the content you are managing, and you are saying it just isn't working when you test it? If so, that could be something as simple as whether or not you have a scripthandler setup for your CGIs in your customer web server.
Or are you saying you have done something like writing a custom menu item to manage the imports (if so, why? Just use the provided Import function). You really need to give some better detail. What exactly are you trying to accomplish, how exactly is it failing, and what have you done so far to diagnose it.

Generally the best way to diagnose a proxy problem is to run iwproxy in debug mode.
Stop the normal proxy service (either through the services panel or with "net stop iwproxy") then run iw-home/bin/iwproxy -d (redirect the output to a file for easier reading if you like). Once iwproxy is running in debug mode, try the preview you're having problems with. You should be able to see the request for the image come through and how the proxy is handling it. If you're having trouble interpreting the output, post it here and I or someone else should be able to help. Remember to kill the iwproxy -d instance and restart the normal service once you're done troubleshooting.
