How to change the XForm associated with an activity?

Hello all

we have implemented a Task Template Form and we have associated this with an activity of a Process Template.

Now we want to use the same Task Template Form (a copy of it by doing save as...) to assignate it to anothe Process Template.

The problem is that it is not possible to choose a process when you copy these kind of activities, you just can do it by creating a new one with the wizard, but it implies implementing the form again !!!

We have tried to edit the .xsd file which contains the configuration of the task form and specify the id of the process and activity, but it does not work neither...

Any good idea?? We do not believe that it is not possible to copy Task Forms Templates !!!

We do need help!!!

Hello Raul,

Copy your Form Template by "Save as.." and close it.
In the Process Builder open another Process Template, click twice on the required activity (go to Activity Inspector) and on the Properties Tab choose required Form Template.
Save the Process Template.
Open another Form Template. It is now associated with another Process Template - you can check the Data model.

I'm not sure I understand you...

When I open de process it is not possible to change the form in the properties tab. It just shows the options:

- (No Form)

- (Remove Form)

- The form thas you associated with the process when you created a Task Form

On the other hand, if I create a new process, it just shows the options:

- (No Form)

- (Remove Form)

This is because there is not associated Task Form yet...

Oh, sorry, I've mistake.

Only Forms that are associated with the process appear in the list.

It seems I found the way to bind a form to another process. I understand much time has passed since but similar issues arise from time to time. And I too faced such problem.

But unfortunately proposed steps are not standart and I warning anybody - described actions can lead to unpredictable consequences. And I am sure EMC company does not approve this. So I decided to describe all steps with no details. Can say just theoretically.

Last warning. Whatever you do - at your own risk. Neither I nor any employee of the EMC company is not responsible for the consequences.

So, lets go.

0. We have the form template 'Test 1' (associated with the process template 'Test 1'). We want to bind the copy of the from 'Test 1' to another process template 'Test copy'.

1. Make a copy of the form 'Test 1' and name it as 'Test 1 copy' (in process 'Test 1' this form will appear in the list).

2. You need to determine all object ids of all process and forms.

3. There is the wonderfull table dm_relation. For what it is intended not difficult to understand. Substituting values of object ids you can "reassign" the form 'Test 1 copy' to the process 'Test copy'. Sorry but here I cannot say how to change something in such table but this is not such a problem as it may seem at first glance.

I apologize for such a vague explanation, but I think the whole idea is clear.
