Is it possible to change the default type of a document while using Import (in webtop)?

In webtop there is an option of File -> Import

Default behavior I found here was that any document imported using this route was of type dm_document. Is it possible to make sure that an import instead creates a document using a customType instead of dm_document? (where customType is derived from dm_document)?

I am not sure but i have a feeling that there might be some xml entries in webtop/da config files or may be some place where i can say what default document type to use on import.

I had to customize import component in Webtop 5.3.

It's better to try configure xml of import component in 6.5.
