ClassCastException

We are trying to implement an OpenDeploy adapter. When using the example as a reference or our custom adapter, we are getting the following exception:

What version of OD is this? What is the OD class that you are extending?

Version: 6.0.1.0.0

We have tried to extend any of the classes from the solutions and still get the same exception error.
