Hi all,
Does Full Text Index server 6.5 SP2 supports fuzzy search functionality? If yes how to enable it?Is it a configuration in Index server or do we have to customize the search functionality?
Thanks,
Visa
Hi Jonny,
I read about grammatical normalization & thesaurus but these are not i'm interested in...
If i search for a word like "foam", it should give me the results having words like "foam", "roam", "rome" etc..basically words having same kind of sound...
In the below bluefish link, SOUNDEX operator is used in Verity for tyis functionality.... But how this is configured for FAST index server?
http://www.bluefishgroup.com/library/2004/using-verity-full-text-engine/
And one more query is, can we configure grammatical normalization after installing Index server? or it should be configured only while installing?
Regards,
Visa.
The SOUNDEX specific to Verity search engine. There might be a similar feature in FAST, but I havent seen any documentation about this. Keep in mind that FAST is OEM by EMC, and only certain features of FAST are part of the OEM license. In order words, even if FAST had that feature, it may not be exposed/enabled to be used by Content Server.
As for grammatical normalization, I have only seen it as part of Index Server install. You might want to contact EMC support to see how to reconfigure this (post installation). It may/may not require you to re-index all your content, so you should ask them this as well.
