teamsite(6.5) search server

Hi,
this question is with respect to the search implemented internally within teamsite.

If we use teamsite search server from teamsite(6.5) then do we need to specify metadata explicitly for each and every page in teamsite for the search server to build it collections so that the search feature can work or does the teamsite search server create its own metadata for the collections it builds with respect to all the teamsite pages without us inputting any metadata conetnts.

Hi Surya,

the configuration of your TS search should follow your customer requirements:
- clarify what metadata should be searchable by your customer

Then:
- some basic information (like the filename) is indexed and searchable by default
- if you want to index special extended attributes or DCR values you have to do some changes within the FieldMapping.xml (<iw-home>\Search\etc).
- for more information about configuring the indexer read TS admin guide, section "Field Mapping Configuration".
