Documentum performance testing using Load Runner

Hi,

I have to test a documentum (with Webtop UI) application and details of the software version are

Client machines & Load Runner:

1. OS : Microsoft windows server 2003 R2
2. Browser : IE 6.0 with SP2
3. Load Runner : 8.1

The business processes we are interested to test are

1. Upload Document
2. Open Document

We are using “UCF” for content transfer.

When trying to upload a document, a new text window is opening by displaying an error message as "An Error as occured. After closing the popup error message window, press refresh or reload button on browser to continue"

Please help me out on this.

Load testing Webtop with Load Runner takes quite a bit of effort. Are you using documentum provided LR scripts? You should since you will spend quite editing the LR generated scripts otherwise. There are several hidden fields/parameters than need to be replaced and UCF requires special handling. EMC had published a document as well that provided some directions/guidelines. I used the LR scripts for Webtop 5.3 and not sure if they released the ones for 6 and 6.5.

I would recommend that you have a look at the Load Runner sample scripts as/javascript:; . The scripts contain some transactions that make usage of UCF.

Thanks Shailshah, Ours is not a classic view, it is web based documentum. It is not possible me to use same LR Scripts provided by documentum. I have created and modified my scripts by camparing the scripts provided. Even though it is not working.

Hi Folks,

We are doing Performance Testing of Documentum D2 and we have developed the test scripts in Ajax Truclient IE of Loadrunner. We have done a couple of tests and observed that after 50mins or so the application is throwing the some 500 error popups and scripts are getting failed. After sometime without any manual modifications from dev end, this application is working well.

One of the observation we got from the tests is all login transactions are failing when the concurrent user load reached 110-120 more.

And the Dev team is confirming that it can sustain more than 300 concurrent user load.

I want any suggestions from anyone that is there any problem with the behavior of Truclient IE Protocol ? Or with Application ?

ANY SUGGESTIONS are welcome.

Hi All,

I want to know if somebody has done performance Testing of Webtop 6.8. I am not able to generate the UID.

I have already done performance testing with Webtop 6.7 SP2 including UCF Transactions.
