Webtop Search Cluster counts do not match search results

RESLOVED: Webtop defect. Threshold values are ignored. Default of 3 is used

Can anyone explain why search cluster counts in Webtop do not match the number of search results?

When counting up the number of items in a cluster (e.g. owner, modifier, format, date) it always seems to be a few results short of the count displayed in the main search results screen. Examples attached

I have tired modifying the "threshold" setting for "clusterStrategy" in "/wdk/config/clusterstrategies_config.xml" but no luck

From what little information I can find, there is a suggestion that results are cached, so I tried stopping and restarting the App Server, rather than just wdk/refresh.jsp. However there is no mention of this problem / feature in what little docs I could dig up

Do I need to stop & restart some of the FTI components?

Hi Brian,

No need to restart the full-text component. Clusters are computed in memory from the set of results by the query. Restarting the app server is probably safer to be sure your configuration is taken into account.

In some case cluster does not take into account all the results, only the one that makes interesting clusters, so it is not surprising that some results are not accounted for. However for your examples on modifier and format, I guess you should have a cluster count matching the results count.

Could you answer a few questions:

• Which version of Webtop and DFC are you using and which version of Extended Search are you using ?
• Could you copy here your cluster strategy configuration ?
• In your first example (17 results for EMEIA), could you check if the modifier is only 'cetsadocumentum' for the 17 document or if there is one which is another modifier ?
• Same question for format, could you check for the 17 results which format they are ? I just want to know if the 1 document missing is of different format and/or modifier than the rest.
