iwrevert vs. iwupdate

Hi,
This is my situation.
1: User A creates a file named test.txt, make changes to it and submits it to staging.
2: text.txt is modified again (doesn't submit it this time) but wants to revert to the file from 1 (step 1 above).

Should I simple use "iwrevert 1" or iwupdate?

In this case tts better to use iwupdate as it gets you the latest file from the STAGING. As iwrevert (numVersions) would revert back to the number of version passed, where a modified file has a version as lastNum+.

I want to update one file in a workarea.... what would be the source and dest file????

Just use:

iwupdate -x STAGING_PATH WKAREA_PATH

If the file is, say, /default/main/www/{area}/test.txt I believe you would use something like:

iwupdate /default/main/www/STAGING/test.txt /default/main/www/WORKAREA/waname

i.e. you specify the full path to the file in the staging area for the source, and you only need to specify the path to the workarea for the taget (it will preserve the area-relative path information)
