I want to preface this question by saying that Documentum support is only one of my job functions and unfortunately I am slowly learning as I go. Anyway, I have noticed that Webtop becomes very slow when our indexing job runs on Documentum. This Fulltext Index job runs every 2 hours, and it just recently started slowing down the system. I have several questions here.
We also have an indexing server, which I assume indexes files in real time. So what does the job in Documentum do differently?
We do have custom classes in Docuemtum, so it that why this is needed?
Moreover, is there anything I can do to improve the performance here? I have two data stores and I thought moving the files to the other data file would cause them to not be accessed when running this job, but it seems like that is not the case.
Lastly, performance of the docbase server and webtop apache servers are fine and barely use any CPU or memory. Sames goes for the database. The only significant performance hit is that the transaction starts blocking on the database when running. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
