Apply lifecycle at folder level

Hello, I need to allow apply lifecycle at the folder level, however it is only enabled at the document level. Does anyone know how I would be able to get it enabled at the folder level as well?
I am using webtop.

Change the precondition of the attach lifecycle action. Keep in mind, enabling this action does NOT mean that applying lifecycle on the folder will automatically apply lifecycle on the documents in the folder. The apply lifecycle action is only applied to the selected object. Any behavior would have to be customized.

first thing to confirm,

what's your aim of applying lifecycle on folder, is it to apply lifecycle on all the documents under this folder in a batch, or you want the folder to be aged according to some events?

The folder must also have the lifecycle attached with the proper permissions on it.

Whats the purpose of the lifecycle on the folder, since out of the box, you cant checkout a folder?

I believe we need it for workflows as we often workflow folders.

I m not sure what your business requirement is, however, what we do before when dealing with this senario is by using Virtual Document.

I still dont understand what "checking out" a folder does for your workflow folders.
