I am trying to retrofit some old code I've inherited. In said code, before a document is created, the index values are validated. This is done using DOCINDEXES.VALIDATE. However, if I try to validate a zero length string in a required field, the method does not return "false". Is this how it is supposed to work? If so, what else is bypassed during validation (i.e., comparing against user-defined lists, valid dates, etc.)?
Would I have any better luck using FIELD.VALIDATE?
