.listing file?

DavidMusser

Has anyone seen a .listing file appear on TS 6.5 on Windows? I don't believe these files were on the system before, but I'm not sure. I was not viewing hidden files. Can anyone tell me if they know of anything in TS, or OD that would create a .listing file?

I'm deleting them, and just want to make sure it's not something that will appear again in the future.

Can you be more specific? I have the same version and OS as you do but you'll need to be more specific about where they're located, when do they appear, etc.?

Current Environment(s):
(1) TS 6.5 on W2K3
(2) TS 6.1 SP1 on W2K3
By the way, I miss Unix terribly.

Dave,

I noticed them in every directory and sub directory... I should have been more specific... They contain a directory listing of what's in each directory. I'm not sure if this is left over from when I copied it down from the site, or if it's something that OD added since I did a reverse deploy etc... so I'm deleting them all now, and if they appear again I'll know what it's from, but was curious if anyone had seen them before.

Thanks david

Do people access the Y: directly?

I've seen files appear before that were left over by applications run by users.
In that case they were thumbnail cache files used by windows explorer.

Just me :-) I think that is what was causing it. I've added an auto private.cfg entry so hopefully they will go away. :-)

Thanks.

I haven't noticed them, either, and I'm doing deployments and reverse deployments in a similar environment to yours.

Thanks Dave, I'm sure it's just the Windows Explorer... I've deleted them and don't see them back yet.
