How to enable Auditing events

Hi,

I need to register new audit types in my documentum 6.5. But i notice 'Manage auditing by Object types' and other 3 links are disabled. I have logged in using System administrator as well as Supervisor account. Still the links were disabled.

Is there anything i need to configure additionally to register new auditing to monitor a folder file movement?

Hello,

check out the Extended Privileges of the user. The minimum privileges are: "Config and View Audit".

Yes. I tried that. Since i couldn’t find the extended privileges in the privileges dropdown box from the user profile edit screen, i used the following dql query to assign the extended privileges to the user account.

update dm_user objects set user_xprivileges = 56 where user_name = 'dmadmin';

But the system throws the following error message

Error occurred during query execution: [DM_QUERY_F_UP_SAVE]fatal: "UPDATE: An error has occurred during a save operation."

Can you tell me if i need to look into any special configuration?

Hi,

with wich user are you trying to change the extended privilege for the user (who should be able to change the audit)?

You have to login to the DA with the docbase owner to change the extended privilege of 'dmadmin'.

Or if you want to use the DQL you also have to login as the docbase owner.

User cannot grant audit privileges himself. You should use another user account (super user) to grant privileges to other users
