IRM policy and Metered print

Hi,

I'm trying to setup IRM server 4.6.1 which integrate with Documentum 6.5 SP 2 for my demo purposes..

I'm having these 2 issues which practically can not be solved after hours and hours working.. hope the EMC experts can help :-)

1. I want to try simple scenario using IRM policy.. let's say I have two documents called document A and Document B.. Also i have 2 users, user 1 and user 2..

I want to deploy IRM with this scenario:

- Document A : user 1 can view print and edit while user 2 can only view

- Document B : user 1 can only view and user 2 can view print and edit

Is this possible ?

2. Is IRM capable to protect amount of print for document ? let's say for example i want to limit document for only print 2 times.. is it possible in IRM ? i noticed there is one function called metered print in IRM server administrator but i don't think it's work..

Really appreciate if there's any suggestion for these issues since i desperately need help..

Hi,

sorry for the very late answer.

About your question: no, metered print is not natively implemented in the IRM server even that you think so because you have a flag for that.

Metered print has to be implemented using a server extension as we did for some projects. Metered Print is (at the end) just a flag in the database that will be set to zero if you reset the metered print count. All other logic has to be implemented by you.
